Tea Shop
Maintain the same minimalistic approach that offers a pause of everyday life.
The retail space consists of a shop with a focus on senses and sights. A tea shop that brings the outdoors in by implementing the herbs and flowers used to make the tea as a part of the interiors. This is achieved by the double glass walls that encapsulate the plants and each of the interior walls are used to display the different stages of the plants life. The dehydrated plants are used to make the tea that the shop offers. The glass and colorful species also allow for the light that passes through to bring unique colors into the scape.
The ritualistic tea ceremonies derive from Oriental ancestries which was a big inspiration for the style an materials within the space. Focusing on an organic and simplistic aesthetic the interior is composed of stone, wood and clean lines. Creating a tea shop that allows for appreciation of culture lead me to designing this staircase.
Composed of wood and precious stone each step represents a different culture where tea comes from.
It allows ascension through a historical reference.
